We enjoyed the farm animals immensely. My favorite were the lamas, actually the white lama! By the time we had to go, I had nicknamed her Mama Lama.
The Corvette Club of Richmond had the pleasure of staying at The In on October 2017. The rooms were immaculate and very unigue. The owners and staff went out of their way the accommodate all of our needs. We book 8 rooms and enjoyed ourselves beyond belief

Peak experience. Literally life altering weekend spent at this lovely inn, which is owned and run by two of the most interesting, loving, brilliant people you will ever encounter in your life. If it were posdible, I would spend every free weekend there, although I haven't experienced it in the winter. The rooms are gorgeous, the beds are extremely comfortable, the food is outstanding, and the surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. I felt physically healthier there than I have in years.
We stayed in the Oriental Room which was absolutely exquisitely decorated with authentic Japanese furniture. (We did see all the guest rooms and will have to return many times to enjoy each.)
The Inn at Mountain Quest is the absolute highlight of our 4 week road trip! We loved the mountain valley farm, the hosts, David and Alex, the staff, hats off to Andrew the chef and Barb, the book keeper, and all the many farm animals.
We fell in love with the beautiful library!
We would return tomorrow to this incredible inn and hope to next year, for sure.
David, Alex, and Barb were warm and welcoming the minute we walked into the 1905 home. These hosts truly meant it when they said that this home was ours to enjoy while we stayed. Their talents and creativity and desire to create a most pleasurable, relaxing, and learning environment (if one so chooses and has time for reading, thinking, and enjoying), was fulfilled in every aspect of each room. Do read the details on-line!
My descriptions do not do it justice. Visit it and you'll leave wanting to return. The staff was just amazingly gracious. One of the greatest family vacations I ever had! And off the beaten path - away from the typical tourist destinations. That was probably what made it so special - like finding a single diamond in a mine!
Some of the rooms in the common area included a two=story library which was absolutely gorgeous. It housed a piano, a puppet theater, antiques, plenty of seating areas, and walls filled with books. Another room was a game room with a huge television, seating area, a bar (not supplied with alcohol) and several stools, and a billiards table.
We loved our stay here. Great conversation with the owner and everything is just beautiful and relaxing. Not the fanciest place but you feel like you are home when you are here. Simply an amazing place. Can't wait to go back.
We stayed at the Inn at Mountain Quest a few years ago. It was absolutely amazing! The room was quaint, filled with antiques. The grounds were just awesome, with a small creek behind the inn. On our last night there, we had a 40 minute "free show" of beavers swimming up and down the creek. There was at least one, maybe two barns filled with beautiful horses and llamas.
I can't say enough about it!
