This short interpretive trail about these crazy, out-of-this-world rock formations was definitely worth the stop. I read about it in a brochure about Highland Scenic Byway that I picked up outside of the Cranberry visitor center on the south end of Route 150. I might have missed seeing it otherwise! Very weird and wonderful "waffle rocks" are presented with informational signs about how they are formed. It is a pretty easy walk, short and wide, though it is slightly uphill/downhill, and weirdly shaped like a wishbone (you start in the middle, so both ways are out & back). The path to the left is longer, the path to the right is steeper. The whole trail is worth it for these wonders. In average health and really milking the experience, it will take less than half an hour. Would be great for science loving kids. I think it's wheelchair accessible - there is a parking spot and the left path is wide enough though fine gravel. For more technical details, there is a much more in depth brochure at the trailhead sign.
